     About the Chino Valley Toastmasters

The Chino Valley Toastmasters has been in existence for over 25 years.  We are a community based club affiliated with our parent organization known as Toastmasters International.  Our club is open to any individual over the age of 18.  We have no professional or socio-economic requirements to join.  The only requirement needed is the motivation to learn and a commitment to personal growth.  Whether you want to simply polish up your public speaking skills, or you want to become comfortable speaking in front of a group, the Toastmaster program can help!

At Toastmasters, members learn by speaking to groups and working with others in a comfortable, supportive environment.  Our Toastmasters meetings are made up of 15 to 20 people who meet once a week for about 90 minutes.  Each meeting gives everyone an opportunity to practice:

  • Conducting meetings.  Members have the opportunity to act as "Toastmaster of the Evening" which helps members learn basic meeting procedures.

  • Giving impromptu speeches.  Members present one-to-two minute impromptu speeches on assigned topics during our “Table Topics” session.
  • Presenting prepared speeches.  Two or more members present speeches based on projects from the Toastmasters International Communication and Leadership Program manuals.  Projects cover such topics as speech organization, voice, language, gestures, speaking with sincerity, and persuasion.
  • Offering constructive evaluation.  Every prepared speaker is assigned an evaluator who points out speech strengths and offers suggestions for improvement.  This evaluation process provides our members with instantaneous feedback about how to improve future speeches.

Our face-to-face learning program benefits beginning or skilled speakers alike.  So whether you are speaking to your superiors, your co-workers, your staff, or your children - Toastmasters can help you do it better!
